Friendly, fun training for dogs of all ages and breeds 🐾
Training doesn’t stop when puppyhood ends! Our Group Dog Training Classes are designed to help you and your dog learn together, build confidence and enjoy training every step of the way.
Whether you’re continuing after Puppy Pre-School, starting with a young dog, or looking to teach an older dog some new skills, you’ll find a warm welcome at West Chiltington Cavaliers.
Our classes run throughout the year and are open to all breeds, with experienced trainers offering plenty of individual support in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Training that’s enjoyable for both ends of the lead
We believe dogs learn best when training is positive, rewarding and fun. Our classes use kind, motivational, reward-based methods that encourage dogs to think, learn and enjoy working with their owners.
Every dog learns at their own pace, so we provide individual guidance and support throughout each session, helping you build a happy, confident partnership with your dog.
Classes to suit every stage
We offer a range of classes to help dogs progress as their skills develop:
- Puppy Classes – the next step after Puppy Pre-School, helping young puppies build confidence and develop everyday life skills.
- Beginners – perfect for dogs learning the basics or owners starting their training journey.
- Further Skills – for dogs and handlers who are ready to build on their foundation training and develop more advanced skills.
- One-to-One Sessions – tailored support for dogs or owners who would benefit from individual training.
Whatever stage you’re at, we’ll help you move forward in a supportive and encouraging environment.
What you’ll learn
Our classes focus on practical skills that make everyday life with your dog easier and more enjoyable. Training may include:
- Reliable recall.
- Walking nicely on a loose lead.
- Sit, stay and wait.
- Calm behaviour around people and other dogs.
- Building focus and confidence in distracting environments.
- Fun training exercises that provide mental stimulation as well as learning.
The aim isn’t just obedience – it’s helping dogs become confident, well-mannered companions.
Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme
Owners attending our classes have the opportunity to work towards the Royal Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme.
This nationally recognised programme provides a clear pathway through different levels of training, helping you and your dog develop practical skills, good manners and confidence together at a pace that suits you.
Participation is entirely optional, but it’s a great way to celebrate your dog’s progress and set new training goals.
Rescue dogs welcome too
We understand that every dog has their own story. We also offer advice and support for owners of rescue dogs, helping them settle into family life and develop confidence through kind, reward-based training.
